   Has anyone ever heard of Encompass auto insurance and if so are they any good?

   This is a company that is owned by Allstate. They have independent agencies around.

   • ANSWER:
     Allstate bought CNA's personal line of auto business and renamed them Encompass; CNA kept the commercial business.

     They're highly rated, only carried by independent agents, and only tend to write a good book of business - no state minimums, no bad credit, they like to have your house/car/boat all together, etc.

     I can't speak to how the claims are handled, though. If they're competitively priced for you, they'd be worth looking at.

2. QUESTION:
   Does anyone here have Encompass Auto Insurance?
   Do you like it.. i just got a quote for /month and that includes my 2 vehicles so its cheap, but im not sure ive heard of the company before

   • ANSWER:
     Encompass is an Allstate company. As part of Allstate's 'We Screw our own agents program" Encompass was created so that Allstate could compete with itself and be sold through independent agencies. Don't know that there is much difference between the two companies, they're both being very aggressive with rates trying to grow new business.

     Print out a coverage sheet from your quote; do a side by side comparison with your current coverage. If the numbers look good feel free. Cheap is cheap.
     My experience with Allstate: when a claim is filed, the good hands turn into just the finger. Good luck.

3. QUESTION:
   One good reason to require insurance against PROPERTY damage expenses (auto. ins.) but not medical expenses?
   I realize that auto insurance encompasses medical expenses related to an auto accident, so I'm referring to OTHER medical expenses.

   Also, I realize that medical insurance may, to some extent, encourage people to take less care ("moral hazard"), but that can clearly be seen as well with auto insurance, which most states require regardless.

   • ANSWER:
     The only insurance required by law is to protect others interests. You can protect your own interests, or not - your choice.

     Liability insurance provides a payment to the people you damage, whether that is property or bodily injury. Your leinholder may require you to have comprehensive and collision coverage on your car, but that is to protect their financial interest in the vehicle - not yours.

   Anyone know of a cheap auto insurance company in PA maybe I never heard of? 10 points best answer!?
   I am so sick and tired of looking for an auto insurance quote that helps me survive. I am currently paying around 0 a month for auto insurance which is ridiculous with a 0 car payment. I had some past accidents which is killing me on my insurance costs but I haven't had any recent accidents. I have tried all the major companies....state farm, geico, nationwide,the general,safe auto,erie....you name it I have tried it and I have tried even some of the not so heard of....amica,encompass,kemper......for the love of GOD! Anyone have any suggestions that may be of some use instead of saying something like ...try google or I'm screwed? These are things that I already know about. Please help!      Sure you need an address, but most don't care if you're working out of your house or not.

     You sound like you need to write a business plan (try www.sba.gov and www.score.org as starting resources). There are other companies that already do this (not the least of which is Progressive that sells a different contracts online than through the brokerage system), so the section about competition and marketing will be critical. You should also either be realistic about the cost of the site creation, data management, CRM, and so on, or you need to have the skills to program and maintain the whole thing yourself.

     If there are package deals where you can just subscribe to a quoting system and pick a template to wrap around it with your company name, this is a clear indication that the bones of the business are not unique. If that's the case, can you do your own SEO, why would a shopper choose you instead of someone else? what's your unique selling proposition? how are you allocating your advertising budget?

     I'm not saying it can't be done, in fact you could be raking money in before too long, but a detailed and researched business plan is your opportunity to work out the wrinkles. Failing miserably because you couldn't track the conversion ratio of each marketing campaign would suck.
