Getting an auto loan is very easy nowadays. A great number of people are discovering that it is very easy to afford their dream cars and they need not save money for their entire lifetime to buy one. Although there are huge price tags attached to modern cars, their affordability has become much easier with several auto loan providers in the market today.
People generally wear a very worried look at the time of financing their first car. The basic reason behind their apprehension is the lack of knowledge about auto loans. The process of getting an auto loan is normally quite simple and if you partner with the right dealership and lending agency, you can drive home your dream car the very same day you go test driving in it. The basic purpose of providing an auto loan is that they must be the easiest option available for the people without ready cash.
Prior to meeting up with the lending agency, you must determine the type of car you wish to buy. The auto loan providers usually ask for details about the make and model of the car you have in mind. They use this data to determine if the car you are planning to purchase is worth their financial assistance. In other words, will it be a financially viable option for them to give you that loan amount.

QUESTION:
Question about general car insurance?
I'm doing a Statistics Lab based off car insurance and i'm a little confused. I'm supposed to make a statement to my boss about charging higher or lower car insurance based on the rating the cars get.So, for the larger, and safer the car is, should I tell my boss to RAISE the insurance prices, or lower the insurance prices?
I'm a little confused on the correct way to do it? Safer = Higher insurance or lower insurace? and WHY?!?!?
-
ANSWER:
I would assume that the more safety features a vehicle has, the lower the premiums would be for the insured. If the car is safer, there is a lower risk of accidents and injuries from accidents, therefore less money the insurance company will have to pay out on claims.

QUESTION:
What company provides the cheapest car insurance?
The cheapest I've found for a 20 year old male driving a jeep cherokee is 974 6 months paid in full on the general car insurance. Are there any cheaper places?-
ANSWER:
If that's the cheapest you've found, there probably ISN'T anything cheaper. Bear in mind, though, that the General, and most of the other similar companies, write nothing higher than state minimum limits (usually 25/50/10), which are far from enough protection--and protection is what you're paying for. If you ran into me and totaled out my '08 sedan, ,000 wouldn't be enough to pay for it, and you'd be on the hook for the balance.

QUESTION:
Can I still be on my parents car insurance policy if I move to another state?
They have State Farm and I would also be getting newer car too. I'm 18 and a male so if I get car insurance on my own everyone wants to make me go broke by having me pay from 0-00 a month. The cheapest I have found is The General Car Insurance and they was only wanting to charge around 0 give or take.
Also what are your thoughts about getting auto insurance from a online company?-
ANSWER:
If you are a college student and are moving out to go to college in another state, your parents can keep you on their policy. However, the vehicle must be registered in their name and registered in their state. The other alternative is for them to first add you as a driver onto their policy. You can then contact a State Farm agent in your new state and obtain your own State Farm policy if you want to register the vehicle in your own name in the state where you will be living. Another option that would save you some money is to keep the vehicle registered with your parents address and their state but in your name and State Farm will give you a multi-vehicle discount and if your parents have homeowners with SF you will also get the multi-policy discount. In terms of my opinion on purchasing insurance online -- I am a firm believer in purchasing a policy through a local agent. Developing a relationship with someone in your community is more advantageous then just being another number. With a good agent you will be in a better position to understand your insurance needs, to obtain real guidance and to have them advocate on your behalf. That said I can understand some reasons for at least getting quotes and finding general information on websites -- just be careful that your information doesn't get harvested.
I hope this information helps. Good Luck

QUESTION:
who is normally allowed to drive your car under most general auto insurance policies?-
ANSWER:
Normally any licensed driver may operate the vehicle with the owner's permission. There are some exceptions to this. If the driver lives in the owner's household they must be listed on the policy as an authorized operator. Additionally some policies restrict operation to non-listed drivers to over 21 or over 25. That's pretty common in the UK but rare in the US.
Auto insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver. SOME policies extend the coverage of the named insured or listed drivers to any vehicle operated by them but this is not universal. Sometimes this is restricted to a temporary replacement vehicle while yours is being repaired or is out of service due to breakdown or accident. Others cover any vehicle at any time such as a rental when you're traveling or if you borrow a car from a friend. In these cases the insurance is secondary to the owner's coverage and will only pay once the owner's coverage is used up.

QUESTION:
I'm going to be 18 when i get my car, and i was wondering how much car insurance usually costs in general?
I always hear car insurance is like 0-00 for a new teenager in a sports car, but is that per month or per year? And if its per month, is there a way you can drive without insurance? or is that completely illegal...? 'cause that much a month would be f***ing ridiculous for a teenager going to college and working part time...
-
ANSWER:
This answer will vary from state to state and neighborhood to neighborhood. I moved 16 miles across town from a not so good neighborhood to a very good neighborhood and for some reason my insurance doubled in the good neighborhood, that made NO sense. Each state I have lived in has had totally different rates. As a new driver it will be higher than when you get over 25. There are a lot of young drivers and they all seem to manage to afford it, so fear not, there will be an option you can afford. Call around or try Allstate's web site to get some quotes. Typically the 0-00 you hear is for a 6 month term.
If you have an older car which is paid off you can get "liability only" which means if you get in a wreck you get no compensation for your car or your medical bills but the person you hit will get compensated. That is the legal MINIMUM you can have. I strongly suggest you not go with only liability because if you get in a wreck you really are left high and dry and your insurance company will not represent you in court or help you to get compensation from another driver if they hit you and they are at fault, if you live in an "at fault" state. Some states fault no one or fault both drivers equally. You must talk to a local agent to get the best answers.

QUESTION:
Car insurance:The general/Safe auto?
What do you guys think about the general and or safe auto? I need personal reviews because I'm looking into choosing one or the other. I'll appreciate it greatly thanks in advance ^^-
ANSWER:
I, personally, would not choose either of them... but that's mostly because I want more than the state minimum coverage. Usually, that's liability and nothing else... it would not cover, for example, theft, vandalism, or weather damage.

QUESTION:
Why did my car insurance get higher?
My car insurance is going up over 0 per 6 months *shocked face*I am curious. Is car insurance in general getting much higher? Or would this increase be due to a wreck I had in January? (It was totally not my fault, but the guy who hit me wasn't insured.)
p.s. If it makes a difference, I use progressive insurance. I spent over a month calling around - they had the best offer for me last year. But now I guess it's time to see what else is out there.

Because it was time to renew. It Progressive had losses in the last quarter they gave a general increase to everyone. In 9 years I've had insurance actually go down only once.

In general, would health insurance from your work cover you if you are in a car accident?
One option with my insurance is if I'm the cause of an accident, they won't cover my medical expenses or the replacement of my vehicle. The good thing about this is the premium is much less. I'm concerned though because I'd like to be covered medically and want to see if health insurance through my work would cover me. Thanks.-

It's going to depend on what state you live in, and what health plan you have. You really need to call the number on the back of your health insurance card, and ask them.

QUESTION:
car got stolen. who has Anchor General as their insurance?
i got my honda civic 4dr stolen the other day and then it was found 2 days later by the cops. everything was stripped and vandalized. they stole my jdm headlights, jdm backlights, 16 red rota gt3 rims, 00 JL stereo system, climate control for some reason, etc. my insurance (Anchor General Insurance) recommened me taking my car to their collision place for repairs. as of right now, i have called my insurance adjuster twice and she hasn't returned a call at all. so i called the collision place and he told me to go over there so we can go over together details on the car on what was stolen and vandilized. one of my insurance company's independant examiner came out and determined that the dents on my car was there before my car was stolen. which it wasn't?! and now the collision guy pulled out this list and started going on down the list of parts that he is going to repair. all the parts are all used and not even the exact parts that i had on my car. i feel like anchor is doing a terrible job at how they're supposed to treat their customers in this situation and care less on what i am going through right now. who has anchor and who had their car stolen before and how did they treat you. please let me know and do give me advice on what i can do in my situation of loss. i have receipts for all my stuff except for my deck which i bought it off of craigslist.
and one more last thing, i live in California.-
ANSWER:
Most states (if not all) have laws protecting people from being forced to take the car to an "insurance" repair shop. You can have it taken to a body shop of your choice for estimates. Get familiar with the laws in your state. You can call any collision place and ask if they can estimate on the repairs. That being said, when you got insurance on the car, it should have been given a glance over by an agent. If no damage was noted or no subsequent claim was reported, they can't claim it was prior damage.
However, most carriers limit coverage (read: provide no coverage) for aftermarket items, unless you have them defined under the auto insurance policy. If you have receipts, you can possibly make a claim under homeowners or renters for personal property on the aftermarket items stolen or damaged. Note, this can be tricky, b/c insurance can demand repayment or claim fraud if you claim the same thing twice. Ie: you get your stereo fixed under the auto but also claim it under the homeowners policy.

ANSWER:
As an insurance broker in Ontario i can tell you that as long as she doesn't live at the same address as the vehicle owner she will be covered under his policy. If she does reside at the same household then by law she has to be listed on his policy as a driver. Other then that anyone with a valid driver license can drive your fathers vehicle with his permission. If this person does cause an at fault accident and doesn't have their own policy this accident will then be charged to the vehicle owner.Hope this helps,

QUESTION:
I need help with car insurance please!?
Ok here's the deal, im 18 yrs old and i currently financed a vehicle with the assistance of my mom. I agreed to pay for the car and most of the insurance. I financed the car with the plan of paying only general liability car insurance. After signing the car from the used car dealer, it came to my knowledge that i will have to get FULL coverage auto insurance. The reason behind this is because i need to protect the auto loan that i got to finance the vechicle. It is impossible for me to pay for full coverage of this vehicle as i called for a qoute and learned that i would have to pay an insane 300-400 a month. I dont know what to do, im going back to the dealer to explain the situation and hope he will be willing to get the car back. If the dealer wont agree to get it back, what are my options? Can i sell the car privately and pay off the loan with the money i get from selling it? My goal is to just buy a really cheap car straight up and only pay for general liability insurance. Help!-
ANSWER:
If you sell the vehicle privately then you will probably get much less money than you invested in it. As far as the insurance goes, you may want to try getting a quote online. I am paying less than ½ of what I was before.Go to: http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=615451&Type=auto

QUESTION:
Question about Geico and injury settlement or car insurance & injury settlements in general?
i was involved in a car accident last week, the other person hit me and im now having back problems. they have geico insurance.According to Geico, I am not entitled to receive any money for my injuries unless i was insured myself the day of the accident. in other words, if i did not have car insurance the day i was hit, then i dont get any money for my injuries, just the damage to my car.
i find this so shocking, anyone know if there's any truth to this? if its true, how? why?
i mean if i lost my leg in an accident, they wouldnt cover a penny if it were their fault just because i myself didnt have insurance?
its just perplexing to me....anyway, id appreciate any help. thanks alot.
i NEVER said i dont have insurance, i do. im just wondering why this is a policy or law because it is ludicrous to me that this could potentially happen to people who cant afford car insurance but are struck and injured by someone who does. i mean come on, someone loses a leg and the other party doesnt pay a dime when it was their fault? that my point, im just trying to understand the system im dealing with here.-

QUESTION:
How much would car insurance cost for me?
How much does it cost to get my first car insurance under my parents insurance living in NV, USA? Also:
I'm 18 yrs old,
Just got my driver's license,
White male Caucasian,
Drive a black 1996 Honda Civic,
been in no accidents,
got good grades from High School,
had no bad records in general,
I live in a safe area, but will drive about 80 miles a week .-
ANSWER:
Depends on the insurance company your parents have. You having good grades is good that lowers it. You been 18 yrs old and just getting your driver license doesn't. If your car is not red they wont bring it that much up. Now you drive a civic and civics for some reason I think they go for higher insurance rates. I think it has something to do with all the hondas being stolen. Now if you drive 80 miles a week that is going to influence it too. It all depends on how high you want your deductible to be and if you want full cover insurance. I would suggest if you can you start your insurance under your own name and build credit if you can afford it. Good luck to you and hopefully its not as bad

ANSWER:
SON, LET ME TELL YA WHAT!!!!A '69' Camaro is just like owning gold only better cause they are going up and up in value everyday!!!!If you buy it license it as an Historical Vehicle . The only drawback is you can only drive it to and from car shows and parades. Ya know as a 16 yr old ya really can't buy a car or enter into a legally binding contract so you are going to have to license it in Mom or Dad's name. This will greatly reduce ins.cost. Is this a turnkey car? I mean, get in it and drive it away? Does the # and letters on the block match the vin and yr for that engine production and that model? I can't imagine what it will be worth when you turn 25!!!!!!!! MUCHO DINERO!!!!!!!!! I live in the town of Norwood where the first one rolled down the line as well as the Firebird.I worked on the assembly line there from 1975-1987 till they closed the plant. I wish I had scooped up all the ones around Cinci back in the 70's and 80's when the gas crunch hit and Insurance rates went through the roof on muscle cars. See,what I am trying to say is if ya take care of it and maybe once a week drive it around 4 blocks and back home and then transfer it out of a parent's name when ya turn 21(no speeding tickets or wrecks now OK) Cause if ya insure it as a daily driver it is expensive (suppose someone stole it or wrecked into it,what would ya have then? Also you need to

For those of you who can listen General insurance TV commercials ... what do you think? Does it get you applying or it turns you off by the naivity???It annoys me to be honest with you. I don't need a car insurance, but if I did need it General sounds too stupid and naive to me, and turns me off against it. LOL

ANSWER:
Personally I am sick of being advertised to. So I turn the sound off during the ad breaks when I watch TV. It makes me way less stressed out, and lots of ads are funnier that way!So no, I don't buy their insurance!

QUESTION:
How do you try to buy or bid on totaled vehicles by car insurance companies?
I’m interested in trying to find a vehicle like mine, but wrecked with a good engine and transmission and any other parts I can salvage to keep mine alive for a few more years . I would like to know in general how to search and bid on wrecked vehicles that have been totaled by insurance companies and are now up for bid. This would be kind of like what a wrecking yard must do to purchase vehicles for parts resale, or a used car dealer that would in turn repair the vehicle and resell with salvage title. Any leads on where to start would be appreciated-
ANSWER:
Ask your insurance agent. He should be able to tell you what they do with the totaled cars. A lot of the time they have salvage yards take them or auction them off at a local auction. Good luck and hope you find one.

QUESTION:
Is someone not on my Car Insurance covered if driving my car?
My car insurnace is through Direct General. Me and my husband is on it. My mom wanted to borrow one of our vehicles for a few days until she can get to a dealership and buy her a new one. Would it be covered if she wrecked it?-
ANSWER:
She is covered while temporarily driving the car with your permission. Insurance follows the vehicle, so loaning your car out essentially means you're loaning the insurance policy out. There are clauses that exclude coverage if the person has regular access to the vehicle or it's for some extended period of time, but your mom will be fine to borrow the vehicle for a few days.

QUESTION:
what is the cheapest car insurance you can think of?
I make 0 - 00 a month & Im moving out in a week. my rent is 0 & Im going to have to get new car insurance next month. I got quotes from thegeneral.com & esurance.com. The general was 119.00 a month & esurance was 204.00do you know anything cheaper? I have an 08 honda accord coup. please help if you can!
-
ANSWER:
It sounds like the General is the cheaper one, but bear in mind that they write only state miminum limits, and those are nowhere near enough insurance. Most states require only around /50/10, and even a fairly minor accident could go through those in a day or two--and ,000 property damage wouldn't replace my '08 sedan if you totaled it. Those limits may make you legal, but they won't make you safe. If you possibly can, find something better.
