United auto insurance is a large insurance provider today in Illinois and Indiana area. Many people have their insurance with United, and have found it very helpful.
Is it right for you? Here are some helpful tips to help you find out this important information.
First of all, United auto insurance has been around for 28 years, giving them a fair amount of experience in the insurance industry. Of course, there are many larger companies have had much more experience in the insurance industry; still 20 years is reasonable now to at least start with when looking for a good car insurance company
The company continues to grow each and every year, with more and more satisfied drivers each year. United makes it simple to pay because they accept every single type of payment available, including Visa, MasterCard, Discovery, American Express, and Western Union. They also take personal check be the phone.
In order to obtain an insurance policy with United auto insurance, you’ll need an SR 22. This is simply a certificate that you must get with this Secretary of State of either Illinois or Indiana, and usually ordered by a judge.
If you have been guilty of driving without insurance, driving under the influence, and had your driver’s license revoked, or your license plates have expired, this certificate is simply to inform the state of your Illinois or Indiana that you have liability insurance in it you will this money will not to come out of your pocket.
United Auto Insurance looks at several different factors that will affect your insurance rate, probably typical most insurance companies. These factors are gender, age, marital status, driving record, in type of vehicle. These are the main factors involved with just about any company look at.
Therefore, make sure that you have a good driving record in order to obtain the best rate possible. Also, check with which United to see what had discounts that they offer. Like most companies, Untied will probably give discounts when you perform certain tasks, such as taking a drivers education course.
Also, if you have a sports car or high performance car you think might cost you more money than the average auto, you might want to consider finding another car to save some money with. no, it might not be as sporty, but if it will save you some money with your auto insurance policy, it might be worth it. also, try to stay off the road as much as possible; very simply, United auto insurance, like other providers, looks at how much time you plan on spending on the road when determining how much you are going to pay for your auto insurance policy.
Obviously, the more you will be driving, the more likely you are to get in an accident; therefore, staying off the road at least as much as possible would probably be a good idea. Obviously, there are some things you just can’t avoid doing, but if you at least attempt to reduce your miles driven, you will save some extra cash.
Hopefully these tips will help you decide whether not United auto insurance is the right company for you. Of course, this answer will be different for everybody.
Keep in mind the company again only is 20 years of experience in auto insurance industry, putting them towards the bottom as far as the larger companies are concerned. Hopefully this information will help you to decide whether not United Auto insurance is the right company for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
QUESTION:
Is United Auto Insurance a good insurance company?-
ANSWER:
To my knowledge United Auto is a high risk insurance market and they have their pricing structure set up based on high risk drivers. If you do not fall into a high risk category, ie., you are over 25 with decent driving and credit history you could probably get better pricing elsewhere.Having said that, I have not heard anything out of the ordinary about them as far as service and coverage options are concerned. If I were you I would visit a local insurance agent and have them take a look at your situation and provide you with different options.

QUESTION:
Where can I buy cheap auto insurance or temporary auto insurance in the United States?
I know u can do it in the UK...but can't find any insurance agency in the US to do it.-
ANSWER:
The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and they should be able to help you.In Texas, we have several companies that will write a 30 day policy - but that is the LEAST amount of time for issue.
If you are hear as a tourist, you can purchase coverage on a rental car. I have had foreign workers that come and find it more cost effective to purchase a car for the period they are here and then sell it when they return to Europe.
In that case, 30 day policies would probably be what you need. You could always start a 6 month plan on payments and then just quit paying when you leave the country.
Good luck and I hope this helps!

QUESTION:
How many nonstandard auto insurance companies are doing business in the United States?
I am researching the nonstandard auto insurance sector and would like to understand how many carriers are underwriting policies in the United States.-
ANSWER:
Well, the biggest nonstandard auto carrier, would be each state's auto insurance program of last resort - that would be facility auto, assigned risk, it goes by lots of different names. If you exclude those, I can think of maybe a dozen companies off the top of my head. But I'm probably missing some.
It also matters a WAY lot, if you're including only admitted carriers, or nonadmitted carriers as well - or if you're talking personal lines only, or including commercial auto lines.

QUESTION:
Is there an option to suspend auto insurance coverage when you are not in the United States?
I am in the United States and have liability-only auto insurance coverage. I will be on vacation (out of United States) for about a month and my wife (also on my insurance policy) would be out of the United States for more than six (6) months.
Based on preliminary findings, it seems that not having coverage (break in coverage) would impact future insurance premiums. What is the best way to save money as well as not impact coverage? Is there a concept like - suspend coverage for a while that when we are not in the country and not pay for that duration?
Thanks in advance.-
ANSWER:
call ur insurance company they will probably offer a limited insurance that will keep ur car covered but not cost very much.......military friends of mine do it all the time......basically car inst insured wile they are gone but policy still covers for about 6-12 bucks a monthbut hey if ur only gonna b gone a month the savings may not b worth the hassle ..........good luck

QUESTION:
What are some good auto insurance companies?
I have not yet did any quotes, I was just wondering can someone out here tell me from experience what are some good insurance companies. My sister has her driver's permit, and she just purchased a used car..Of course she's trying to get her license but she wants to practice in her car as long as she has a licensed driver in the car with her. I myself have license, but no car at the current moment. United Auto Insurance said that even if she doesn't have license and the car is registered in her name, she can still get insurance as long as I'm on there with her because I have license.
Do you know of any other insurance companies that are like that. Also, she's just looking to get liability at the time and she is over 18yrs. of age..
Please no smart remarks, only mature serious answers please

QUESTION:
Why do liberals compare the health care mandate to auto insurance mandates?
Your auto insurance mandate argument ignores the federal structure of the United States government. There is no federal auto insurance mandate. These are all state or local level laws. These kinds of laws are unconstitutional in a few ways, including under the 10th Amendment. Since regulating motor vehicles and their operations fall under the domain of the states, the federal government has no authority here. Furthermore, one cannot ever avoid the health insurance mandate like someone can avoid an auto insurance mandate. No one forces people to drive. People are free to choose to walk, use public transportation, carpool, etc. Avoiding the health insurance mandate would require someone to relinquish their United States citizenship. This isn't portion isn't directed at you, but at the peanut gallery in general:
The individual health insurance mandate is not authorized by Congress' taxation authority because it is not a tax. Tax revenue is paid by taxpayers directly to the government, while premiums paid due to the mandate will go directly to private entities (i.e. insurance companies).
What good is a mandate you can opt-out of? Winning logic!
Wow, so many straw man arguments from the libs! The topic at hand is finding the constitutional authority for the mandate, not to prove its benefits nor its origins.Learn to argue.
-
ANSWER:
Some do, some don't.Most simply point out that it was A REPUBLICAN - Mitt Romney - who developed the model - in which he pointed out that it's simply a matter of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to purchase Health Care Insurance.
So - he MANDATED it.
But of course - if Democrats do it ... it's called SOCIALISM.
When REPUBLICANS do it - - - it's sound policy.
LOL ... Just goes to show you - Republicans are American Hating Partisan Hacks.
Thanks for providing me the opportunity to prove that.

QUESTION:
How did the United States healthcare system develop? e.g. health insurance, Medicare.?
Why does the United States have health insurance? It is optional to have health insurance, because it is not required by any law, unlike auto insurance. I would like to know where the system of health insurance got it's roots.-
ANSWER:
During the 2nd World War, wage and price controls were placed on American employers. To compete for workers, companies begin to offer health benefits, giving rise to the employer-based system in place today. This was the first health insurance system. It was very limited in coverage scope. In the 1950s, the price of hospital care doubled. Now in the early 1960s, those outside the workplace, especially the elderly, have difficulty affording insurance. Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law.
In the 1970's, healthcare costs were escalating rapidly, partially due to unexpectedly high Medicare expenditures, rapid inflation in the economy, expansion of hospital expenses and profits, and changes in medical care including greater use of technology, medications, and conservative approaches to treatment. American medicine is now seen as in crisis.
Under President Reagan, Medicare shifted to payment by diagnosis (DRG) instead of by treatment. Private plans quickly followed suit. This was followed by growing complaints by insurance companies that the traditional fee-for-service method of payment to doctors were being exploited. Our medical service providers started "milking the system" to grow rich.
In the 1990's, health care costs rose at double the rate of inflation. Currently, Medicare and Medicaid are widely viewed by anyone looking at the numbers, as being unsustainable. The Health Reform Act is working hard to eliminate employer sponsored health insurance policies, while rising costs and required coverages have private health insurance on the path of being unaffordable, for the average family.

QUESTION:
Are government vehicles insured by a specific auto insurance company?
Or do local governments decide who will insure their vehicles? What about federal government/United States Postal Service vehicles?-

QUESTION:
What is the insurance company with this policy number?
Hello, I was in a car accident a week ago and the other person was at fault.I have a police report with the person's policy number.
In the report it says the person is insured by FLORIDA AUTO INSURANCE, but I can't get any information about the company.
I have called my insurance (United Auto.... the worst insurance company ever) they can't help me.
I have called the person at fault, she doesn't want to cooperate.
I have called the police department, they can't help.
Finally, I called the main DMV department and they told me I have to fax them the report and they will send me the information in 15 days or more.
Is there a way I can find the person's company before.
I'm in Miami, FL and the person's policy number is 961556919
Thank you
-
ANSWER:
You really should handle this through YOUR insurer. While you can ask the other party's insurer to pay your losses, you can't compel them to do so and they have no incentive to cooperate with you. You can't file a "claim" with them as you are not the policyholder and you can't sue them as they are not a party to the accident.

QUESTION:
What are the listings for African American or black owned auto insurance companies and agents.?
I want to support my people, because no one else is going to support us. Many immigrants only support their business owned by their people, but we blacks have very few businesses. We need to unite and support each other to survive in this every changing country. It feels as if we are second class citizens in our own communities. We have to do business and pay for services of people who dislike us,because we have no alternative. We blacks need to control, manage, and build business in our own communities. P.S. I love America USA is # 1-
ANSWER:
That's pretty ignorant to choose a service solely because of the color of ones skin. If you have local services and would like to support your community that's fine. America doesn't hate black people. Stop the self loathing. If you are a decent respectful man you will get the same from 99% of America. As far as immigrants supporting "their people", you're talking about nationalities. Often customs, languages, foods, etc of home countries are not mainstream in America, so they turn to other immigrants from their country in their community. Ignorance to combat ignorance will not work.

QUESTION:
A person insured with United Auto (TX) hit my 08 Altima. Do i have to accept thier estimate?
Thier insurance contacted me and had me go to one of thier repair shops for an estimate. The value of the repair was much less than the one i got from the dealer i got my car from. I was told that i could take it anywhere i would like but they would only pay up to 0. Is this true or do i have the right to take it anywhere i want and they have to pay for it? Since i was the one who was hit.-
ANSWER:
You may have to sue the other driver for the difference. Many people ask about finding the cheapest auto insurance. This is one major problem with cheap insurance. If you are at fault, you could be stuck with the difference between the covered amount and the true cost of repairs. If you are the victim, you may have to go through the hassle to get compensated.

QUESTION:
Gieco Auto Insurance - Better options?
I have seen all of Gieco's commercials on TV and their ads all over the internet. It's finally time for me to make a decision on auto insurance (I am 19 and am purchasing my first car in the next few weeks). I am located in the United States (Mass. to be exact). When I go to purchase insurance, should I trust Gieco? They seem reliable... or should I try out someone else? Thoughts?
-
ANSWER:
Hi James,
I have owned four automobiles in my lifetime. With every new car, I went online to search for the best deals. My experience with Gieco is that they only will give you quotes from the same 4-5 large companies... and these quotes are all very similar in price. Nothing special. I was never really impressed with Gieco. With my latest car, I ended up using http://www.4insure.net .... the rates I got from them were all around /month less than Gieco's or any other large insurance quote comparison site. I am a 28 year old male and paying a low /month for my 2004 BMW X5... not too shabby
Good luck to u!

QUESTION:
CAN MY HEALTH INSURANCE MAKE ME PAY THEM BACK FOR COVERING A ER CHARGE FROM A AUTO ACCIDENT?
I have United Health Care and am a Georgia resident. I was involved in an auto accident last November and my Health insurance decided to pay for the ER Dr. bill and the ER visit because the auto insurance wouldn't cover it. Now they are sending me letters stating I owe them a total of 663.00 which is how much they paid for the services. Is this legal and i'm a really obligated to pay them back?
No other insurance paid on this accident. My Auto Insurance doesn't have medpay and according to the responsible parties insurance they do not have medpay either. So my health insurance company United Health care paid the Hospital and the Dr bill and is charging me for what they paid.
Moral of the story is. My HEALTH insurance paid for the claim and not the AUTO insurance and now my HEALTH insurance is asking for a reimbursement from me. IS THIS LEGAL?-
ANSWER:
The concept is called subrogation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SubrogationThe health insurer is essentially stating that another party is responsible for the claim that they initially paid in good faith. In these cases it is usually the auto insurer (either your or the other party's). However without subrogation, there is no motivation on your part to ensure that the responsible party (the auto insurer) pays the claim. I would contact your health insurer to find out how to proceed.

QUESTION:
Why do libs keep making the dumb comparison of require health insurance to auto insurance?
1. There is no federal auto insurance requirement
2. I can buy auto insurance from any state in the U.S.
3. Auto insurance company's are private.
4. They don't charge the same rate for a brand new car and a piece of cr#p, A good driver and someone with a history of reckless driving.
5. Car insurance doesn't pay for every routine maintenance needed on a car, like libs want health insurance to do.
6. I can't buy insurance after I've had a accident. preexisting condition protection doesn't apply
7. Ever heard of the Constitution of the United States?? The federal government cant make you buy anything. Which of the enumerated powers would that be?If your going to make a comparison make one that makes sense. I keep hearing it even though it makes no sense.
Mr. You must either be the dumbest person if ever met or your just making fun of libs.
You just gave examples of More differences (not less)
There is no Federal police or fire department (duh)
The federal government can't do whatever they want in the name of public safety. That was Hitler and Stalins reasoning. Why dont you take a little time to read the Constitution?
kiran C. Yeah you can use the commerce clause if you ignore the rest of the constitution, like the 10th amendment. The supreme court has already ruled that insurance in not commerce. The commerce clause referes to interstate regulation which according to liberals own legislation health insurance is not interstate since noone can buy out of state insurance.-
ANSWER:
You are not required to buy auto insurance but if you do not you will suffer the consequences later on. Car accident will make you wish you had auto insurance, car tag can be taken if no insurance, can suspend your drivers license for no car insurance. Don't know if this applies in all states but I know of several where it does. Also cannot purchase any vehicle through a car dealership without showing proof of insurance. Maybe you do not call that being forced but I do.*

QUESTION:
The Auto Insurance vs Health Insurance debate, can we settle this now?
I have my own opinion about being a federally mandated consumer of a privately produced product simply for being born in the United States and drawing breath but I'd like to hear what others have to say.
http://www.usconstitution.net/xconst.html
Outstanding answers thank you.-
ANSWER:
The two are completely different.
When we ask government for a drivers license we voluntarily become a regulated enterprise, promise to obey all the terms and provisions of the vehicle code (which apply to us), which is a strange quasi-contract mixture of police powers regulations for safety (to which everyone is subject) and stuff you volunteer into, such as buying car insurance. In a few years government mandates to buy health insurance will fall before the Supreme Court because government can not force you to sign a contract. Your right to contract is unlimited, you own it.
Here's a bit of dicta from the US Supreme Court in a 5th amendment case, in which they explain that your legal status affects what government can make you do.
Hale vs Henkel
201US74
Year 1905.
"Conceding that the witness was an officer of the corporation under investigation, and that he was entitled to assert the rights of the corporation with respect to the production of its books and papers, we are of the opinion that there is a clear distinction in this particular between an individual and a corporation, and that the latter has no right to refuse to submit its books and papers for an examination at the suit of the State. The individual may stand upon his constitutional rights as a citizen. He is entitled to carry on his private business in his own way. His power to contract is unlimited. He owes no duty to the State or to his neighbors to divulge his business, or to open his doors to an investigation, so far as it may tend to criminate him. He owes no such duty to the State, since he receives nothing therefrom beyond the protection of his life and property. His rights are such as existed by the law of the land long antecedent to the organization of the State, and can only be taken from him by due process of law, and in accordance with the Constitution. Among his rights are a refusal to incriminate himself and the immunity of himself and his property from arrest or seizure except under a warrant of the law. He owes nothing to the public so long as he does not trespass upon their rights.
Upon the other hand, the corporation is a creature of the State. It is presumed to be incorporated for the benefit of the public. It receives certain special privileges and franchises, and holds them subject to the laws of the State and the limitations of its charter. Its powers are limited by law. It can make no contract not authorized by its charter. Its rights to act as a corporation are only preserved to it so long as it obeys the laws of its creation. There is a reserved right in the legislature to investigate its contracts and find out whether it has exceeded its powers. It would be a strange anomaly to hold that a State, having chartered a corporation to make use of certain franchises, could not in the exercise of its sovereignty inquire how these franchises had been employed, and whether they had been abused, and demand the production of the corporate books and papers for that purpose." …………

QUESTION:
Who agrees that the United Auto Workers Union leadership is ignorant & arrogant?
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081211/congress_autos.htmlThey get WAY overpaid compared to workers who make high-quality Toyotas and Hondas -- and, I might add, these are UNITED STATES Toyota and Honda workers -- they pay 788,000+ retirees gold-plated health care insurance plans, and they pay 80%+ wages to employees who are "on the bench" (instead of NO pay like layoffs in others companies).
And the UAW won't budge to put wages in line with the others by a late date in 2009 (insisting that they keep their totally unrealistic 2011 contract)??
I WOULD SAY "SEE YOU IN BANKRUPTCY COURT" TOO (just like the Senate did tonight)!!!
They come with tin-cup in hand --- fine, let them start their own darn business(es) if they're so smart.
And nobody had better bring up the bailout of Wall Street -- another boondoggle and rape of the American taxpayer. If your neighbor's kid needs a bailout (or jumps off a cliff), you don't tell YOUR kid to jump off a cliff too.

ANSWER:
ME!! i think that they shouldnt have gotten any money at all... even if they dont get any money, its not guarenteed to go bankrupt, and even if they go bankrupt: that simply means that someone else will buy them out and they will end up doing things better with more efficiency.the sad thing is that jobs will be lost in the process... but i still see it (teaching the big 3 a lesson and making them leave empty handed) as something that has to be done to move forward.

QUESTION:
Car Insurance Statistics?
Hello,I am looking for statistics regarding no fault insurance policies. Specifically, I am looking for data on how many policies were taken out/purchased each year since no fault auto insurance started in the United States. Anyone know of a good place to find this data?
-
ANSWER:
I don't think you'll find a source on this.Keep in mind, "no fault" is more a product of the state - so EVERY policy sold in Michigan, will be a "no fault" policy, and EVERY policy sold in NY, will be a "full tort" policy. A few states give the insured the option of full tort, or limited tort.
Then, how do you factor in the people that take out multiple policies every year? Do you count them three times, even if each policy is only in force, for one year?
For every state except NH, cars are REQUIRED to have either insurance, or proof of self insurance (for large commercial accounts), so it might be easier to find out how many cars are legally on the road in each state, than how many POLICIES have been purchased.

QUESTION:
Being blamed for a car accident. Never made contact with car! Need advice state of illinois?
I need advice. Was driving south bound out of my neighborhood 1 lane, I had a stop sign. Other car was west of me driving east bound no stop sign, a 2 way street. Upon coming to the stop sign I made a complete stop with the intentions of crossing over and continue heading straight south bound. After making the stop I looked left no car coming and proceeded to move with caution knowing there was no stop sign on eight side of this intersection heading east bound or west bound. I stuck ed my car out as I was over the stop sign as I was going to proceed to cross over, but stopped upon seeing the vehicle heading eastbound, (as he could of slammed into my passenger side if I had not stopped). The vehicle heading east bound slammed his breaks, swerving into a post. Now the car is blaming me for causing the accident (his damages), I never made it to his side of the intersection ( middle of the road) because I stopped my car upon seeing him, never making it to his lane, so he had enough room to keep on going Straight eastbound. When he hit the post, I stopped to see if he was okay, but then he started blaming me, accusing me of causing the accident. (I wished I had kept on going) Anyways we ended up at the police station and the police told me to leave after obtaining my information ( license and insurance) not giving me any tickets nor a police report. Prior to leaving the station he told the police that I blew the stop sign when in fact I never did. A few days later I received a claim letter against me. Now I have no clue what is going to happen. If I didn't get tickets nor a police report, then why would he have my insurance information. Will I be blamed? Help any advice, I already gave my statement to my insurance and now I have to wait.Further information if needed: We both have insurance, I have state farm and I found out through my insurance, he has united auto insurance. His damage was minimal and he admitted no injuries at the police station. The post was scratched but nothing major. I need advice as I don't feel it was my fault!
Just trying to state all the facts here for advice.-
ANSWER:
You have nothing to report to your insurance company. You have no liability in this matter. You were not involved in the crash. The guy can blame you all he wants, but you are not legally at fault. I cannot believe that your insurance company will have anything to do with this but if they do, let them handle it. I predict that They will deny the claim. I also predict that if the other guy sues you, the judge will throw the suit out.

QUESTION:
Why have We the People and all of the various states allowed the federal government to ignore the?
US Constitution? The Constitution clearly outlines the functions of the three branches of the federal government and the 10th amendment leaves all other powers to the states and the people. How did we get to the point of the federal government mandating health insurance, auto insurance, MediCare, Social Security, income taxes,...ad naseum?http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

ANSWER:
It has happened over time. More and more political figures with liberal minded agendas to 'help those that cannot do it themselves" (when it should be too lazy to do it themselves) got into power and they want to be the nice politician and help the little guy. The thing is, it is like the health care bill, it isn't sustainable. The more money that was coming into the Federal Gov meant more power of the purse over the nation. If we push for the Fair Tax that takes away that power and gives it back tot he people (that is why so many of the liberals are against it).

QUESTION:
auto statistics on illegal aliens driving, insurance, accidents, etc........?
I am looking for any statistic against or in favor of illegal aliens receiving driving privileges in the United States.-
ANSWER:
While the Census Bureau estimates there are 9 million illegal aliens living in the U.S., other sources put the figure closer to 20 million. Running parallel to those estimates are the best guesses on the number of unlicensed motorists – 17 million
In addition, the states with the most illegal aliens also have the most unlicensed drivers. Those states are also in the lead for the most hit-and-run accidents, according to reports issued by the Fatality Analysis Reporting System and the Pew Hispanic Center. California ranks at the top with 24.1 percent of the known 11.1 million illegal aliens.

QUESTION:
Liberals. If health care passes will you be made when the supreme court declares it unconstitutional?
Because The united states government cannot force someone to buy something. You can try to bring up auto insurance but thats a state right and no one forces you to buy a car because having a car is a priviledge and not a right. so that argument is invalid. So will you be mad?-

Yes. They will be mad at the supreme court and said they had no right doing that.

QUESTION:
Who is the largest CAR LOAN INSURER in USA?
Please list CAR LOAN insurers in the United States...do not get this mixed up with Auto Insurance companies...AUTO LOAN insurers insure auto loans if someone defaults on it.-
ANSWER:
Depends on how you define largest. Most money in reserves? Most amount insured? Most number of policies? Most claims paid? Most offices? Most employees?Car loan insurers are SMALL. Small companies, small payouts. And car loan insurance is a ripoff, IMO.

QUESTION:
What if health care reform was done this way?
End state lines, allowing competitors to sell health insurance across America.End the law suits doctors endure, banning doctors to be sued because of malpractice. (Only ones losing here are lawyers like Jacoby and Myers you see on tv getting 1 billion last year)
Give people tax cuts who purchase insurance.
End Medicare/Medicaid so insurance companies can make low rate insurance plans for the elderly and poor. It works with auto insurance since elderly and poor people drive cars and still can afford insurance.
The more competition the cheaper the price, the more quantity the cheaper the price, so giving people incentive to purchase, and giving insurance companies more boundary, and not letting doctors have costs that shouldn't be there like law suits. Will simply raise the standard completely.
I would love to see doctors own their own private practices, seeing health practices opened across the United States, their could even be franchises of this. We see Wal*Greens a major drug distributor. So why not a major diagnosis center?
-
ANSWER:
I like mine better. You buy insurance or you don't. If you don't you better learn the art of prayer because that is the only help you get. It's simple, to the point, and it didnt take 2 houses and 10 months to figure out.

QUESTION:
Do I need to change my Car Insurance? What do i need to do?
I am a foreign student in United States. I stayed at California for 2 years. Now, I moved to Indiana State.I have a car Insurance with California address. My License plate is still California's.
Do I need to do anything with my insurance?
When I tried to do a trial quote for changing address at Geico, the quote for new address is almost 2 times more expensive than the old one. I don't know what to do. I believe Indiana Auto insurance must be cheaper than that of California.Should I just cancel it and start a new one? Do I still need to do anything with DMV?
-
ANSWER:
Find an independent agent, and tell him you have moved from CA to IN and you need insurance. That's assuming your current insurance doesn't cover you in IN, call them and ask about transferring it they do. Do not cancel your current insurance until your new policy is in effect.Once you are insured and have your card covering you in IN, go to the DMV.
For registration: Register Vehicle as New Indiana Resident To register your vehicle as a new Indiana resident, you will need to visit a license branch and provide your vehicle's Certificate of Origin and Odometer Statement. You will also need to show proof of insurance.
New residents must also apply for a title before receiving a license plate at a branch.
You will also turn in your old drivers license for a new one.
An applicant for a new Indiana operator license who holds a valid photo license issued by another state, the District of Columbia or U.S. Territory must successfully pass a written and vision test.

QUESTION:
Don't you agree that congress is way out of line trying to FORCE people to buy health insurance?
You have to buy auto-insurance.........
as a condition of owning a car and choosing to drive it..........
That's reasonable. But you have to buy health insurance........as a condition of what?
as a condition of existing.
as a condition of being human.
as a condition of being a lawful resident of the United States. That's absurd! That's unconstitutional!
This penalizes poverty.......poor people will be punished for not buying something that they can't even afford..........
and without the public option, it will be even more difficult to afford it.I hate laws that punish people for "inactivity"........
like; failure to file taxes
laws that don't punish you for something you DID.......but for something you DIDN'T DO.
laws that make you "guilty by default." "guilty for being human."
"guilty until proven innocent."It should be the consumer's right to choose what he/she buys.
Counter-argument: "If someone goes without health insurance and gets sick, they will cost the tax payers money."
I understand that argument, but forcing people to buy things isn't the answer.
That's like saying we should force everyone to buy something in hopes of stimulating the economy.
You can't do that.-
ANSWER:
yup. but we have no say any more. I realized this because of this whole health care fiasco. So many people are against this and showed it but that did nothing. We have lost our power.

QUESTION:
What is the reason for high health-care in United States?
We have Big-3 Auto makers executive visiting White House to discuss, rising healthcare, pension, unfoavourable exchange rates and high cost of steel. My employer just raised my premium to K per year.
Doctors don't make money the way they used to in 80s? Hospitals are shutting down everywhere except FL? Insurance companies like Aetna, Cigna stocks are not rising rapidly. What is the reason for this high healthcare cost? Are we all too sick, fat and unhealthy? Or is it illegal immigrants are exhausting all healthcare institutions and medicaid?-
ANSWER:
Because no one pays their own health care costs! We expect everyone else (gov't, insurance companies, our employers) to pay for our medical care.
Because of this we demand the best available care and we don't care about the price. The market forces of competition are absent. There is no incentive for us to shop around for the best price for health care.
Another factor is too much gov't regulation. Not every medical issue requires a full M.D. Why can't I go see someone less trained and educated for minor issues?
Yet another factor is the legal system has greatly increased costs due to constant mal-practice suits and judgements beyond all reason. The medical establishment does tests not needed just to prove they covered all the bases. Malpractice insurance keeps getting more expensive, thereby driving up our costs.
Still another factor is that illegal immigrants get free health care, at the medical establishments expense, because they are not allowed to turn them away.
There are many reasons for the high health care costs. Any true reform will have to address them all.

QUESTION:
Are you for Obama's United Socialist States of America?
United Socialist States of America? We have a socialist retirement system. We have a socialist health care system for the elderly. We have automobile and aviation companies on the verge of bankruptcy or government ownership due to legislation and regulation in oil prices that could be half of what they are if Congress got out of the way. Look at me. The problem with General Motors and Ford and Chrysler and domestic auto manufacturers is not that they don't know how to run their business. They are all kicking butt internationally. Ford, General Motors are selling cars out the wazoo internationally. You know what they don't face? The same kind of onerous regulation they have here. You want to fix the Ford auto industry, General Motors, local, domestic auto industry, just get rid of the CAFE standards. The idea that people that run the auto companies do not know how to make cars that people want has been obscured by the fact that they've been forced to make cars fitting mandates offered by government, people in government who have never built a car, have never designed a car, have never marketed nor sold a car. Just get government out of their way, and then let 'em sink or swim on their own. How is it that all three of them are up the creek? All three of them face the same onerous regulations.
What about oil prices and the effect on the price of a car and the mileage and the kind of car you want? Get Washington out of the way on that, not this phony bill that Nancy Pelosi ushered through the House. We can drill everywhere there isn't oil now, and you know why they had to usher this through? 'Cause they knew it was a losing issue for them. We had 'em right between the eyes. We had 'em right in the palm of our hands. They were on the wrong side of this drill, drill, drill, right here, right now, business, so they usher through this stupid thing. It's the same, the Gang of Ten, gang of 16, now gang of 20 in the Senate -- oh, yeah, we're going to allow drilling, we're going to drill, drill, drill, but it's gotta be further than 50 miles offshore. Most of the oil is closer than that, so Big Oil has been told go ahead and invest and drill where there isn't any oil, which they won't do.

QUESTION:
Should the United States congress bail out the "big three automakers"?
There are approximately 600,000 people employed by General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. This doesn't include employees from other industries that are directly affected by the auto industry. Are the Republicans punishing "blue collar" union workers by showing a reluctance to help? Are the Reublicans rewarding "white collar" investment and insurance executives by supporting their bailout?
Should the employees who were not involved in the decision making be punished?
The blue collar workers of the "big three" are like you and me. They have families, mortgages, medical bills, kids going to college, etc. Did you consider the fact that there will be 600,000 more people eligible for unemployment benefits if the "big three" fails? Did you consider the number of additional home foreclosures that will result from this? Did you consider the other businesses affected that will come crashing down if the "big three" fails? Most of your answers do not look at the big picture. This is a genuine disaster that this country may never bounce back from.-
ANSWER:
If I started a company that sold a product, say battery powered woopie cushons that nobody buys and I went out and hired 1 million people to work in my company then shortly after I ran out of money because nobody was buying my stuff. Should I ask for the tax payers to give me money so that all those people don't get layed off?
Instead of having those people making all those woopie cushions that nobody buys it would make more sense to have those people not work and just pay them their salaries out of the tax payers pockets to reduce material waste, energy consumption, and global impact.
Of course as the owner of the company I can promise that I will improve the woopie cushions by investing a small portion of that money to develop a solar powered woopie cushion. Would you want the government to bailout my business? This is what I saw we should do:
Screw the Big Three. They don’t know what they are doing. Even if they come out with an electric car or a new hybrid nobody would buy it because it has the Ford or Chevy logo on it, which nobody trusts and buyers associate with lower quality. If we are going to give anyone the 25 billion to jump start our auto industry I say give the money to a company with a world renown reputation for producing futuristic and technically innovative products that everyone wants to buy. Products that raise the bar for all competitors in the market. I say give the 25 billion to Steve Jobs to make an iCar. You know people all over the world will be waiting in line to buy one!

QUESTION:
Should illigal immgrants have drivers licenses?
Should illegal immigrants in the United States be able to receive drivers licenses for the following reasons:* so their locations are monitored (or known)
* so they are legal drivers that may obtain Auto insurance-
ANSWER:
I think that would be a great idea.I also think we should give violent offenders free firearms and ammunition. That way we could keep track of them based on the serial numbers of the weapons and ballistics of the bullets.
We should also give sex offenders jobs in elementary schools, that way we would know where they were at all times, they would never miss work and they would always be occupied.
If we reward one type of criminal behavior then we should reward all types of criminal behavior.

QUESTION:
Our Government "forcing" us to buy a product/service: Constitutional?
Whether it's "good" for people to have health insurance or it's something that people "should" have is not the question nor the issue.Specifically, does the United States Constitution allow for this type of Government power?
(Auto Insurance: does not apply because: 1. Liability only protects the other person and you are NOT required to own a vehicle)
"Regulating " state commerce is said to be the supporting amendment. How does the term "regulate" apply?
What the Gov does with my tax money is FAR removed from forcing us to purchase a product or service-
ANSWER:
It's a direct violation of Article 6. The government is not allowed to sell us a product by force. That would constitute eminent domain (legally called "a taking").

QUESTION:
How to get more leads?
I sell Contractors Insurance - general liability, workers comp. commercial auto, tool coverage, bonding. How can I get more leads for people who need Contractors Insurance in the Western United States?-
ANSWER:
If you sell specific policies to specific sized businesses in specific SIC codes, I'd subscribe to a web based lead/contact provider. Most provide software that lets you search by business size, SIC and geographic location. Do a google search for business leads and find some companies that produce lists of businesses that you could insure, then get on the phone and start x-dating. Do some follow-ups by mail and if you happen to be in an area, drop in. Hard work, I hope you get serious $$ for writing policies.

Regarding the Illegal Aliens. Why are we not doing any of these things read it carefully before answering?
Any children born in the United States from other countries, receives a birth certificate stating "Other than US Citizen”.In order to be born a citizen,at least one of your parents must be one. This would reduce the number of pregnant women crossing the boarder and endangering their unborn child's life.Build a large holding compound at the boarder of each of our bordering states.First time caught in the United State illegally 3 months then returned to your country. Second time 6 months and so on.Do not put these people in regular prisons, they cost too much to run. With them being in these HOLDING COMPOUNDS, they will not Make Money to Send Home Pass the 23% sales tax and get rid of all the other taxes. Add 10 cents a gallon to gas. This would provide everyone with Gov’t covered auto insurance, which means everyone is covered and is cheaper than reg insurence.Put our military on our boarders protecting OUR LAND just like everyother country. We have more military over in Europe then Europe does. Every other country in the world does it, but we can’t why
And just so everyone knows I have spent time in underdevolped countries try Afganistan and Iraq how about down in Africa. Yeah just so everyone knows. MOM you idiot.-
ANSWER:
yes... i've been told that to have a more socialistic form of government... like when everyone gets health care from the government... and no one has to go hungry or go without shelter, (see Canada and the Netherlands....) i am told that then that means that we are evil commies and that i am sick for even thinking that way.i have no idea why the government doesn't just take a god d*mn glance at what other successful countries are doing and how they do. i think that main problem is that the US has to be the best, they can take advice from no one, and they must do everything on their own, no matter who shitty things get, (hello! Katrina???)
i do like your ideas. i don't think that the us government realizes that we are dealing with LIVES here. they think it's just a huge game of axis and allies and that if they lose a few things here and there, no big deal, they'll get some more and then in maybe about an hour we can take a break and get a pop and watch that 70s show!

Are the Democrats now the Party of Phoney Poster People?
Bogus Poster Can Granny...With some helpful union prompting, the 79-year-old widow stood up last week at a Gore town meeting in Iowa to explain how she walks the highway, picking up cans so she can afford to pay for food since she has to pay 0 a month for her prescriptions. CNSNews.com Executive Editor Scott Hogenson took the initiative to call Mrs. Skinner. He found the opposite of a desperate woman itching for a new entitlement. She made it clear she's not interested in federal assistance. "No, no, I don't want the taxpayers to pay for my medicine," Skinner told Hogenson. "I'm a proud person and I want to earn it and I want to do it on my own. I don't accept charity and I don't get food stamps. I qualify, but I don't get them because I don't want the taxpayers to support me." Skinner’s children are financially comfortable, but she won’t accept any help from them. More to the (political) point, The Washington Post noticed Mrs. Skinner was encouraged to attend the Gore meeting by her colleagues in the United Auto Workers union.

QUESTION:
The Scourge of Obamacare (Government health care) ?
Your thoughts on this informative article? Best answer to the most well thought and well reasoned comment (regardless of which side of the issue you're on). This is a challenge to either defend or refute the article.10 Questions for Supporters of 'ObamaCare'
by Dennis Prager (Copyright © 2009 Salem Web Network.)
Tuesday, July 28, 20091. President Barack Obama repeatedly tells us that one reason national health care is needed is that we can no longer afford to pay for Medicare and Medicaid. But if Medicare and Medicaid are fiscally insolvent and gradually bankrupting our society, why is a government takeover of medical care for the rest of society a good idea? What large-scale government program has not eventually spiraled out of control, let alone stayed within its projected budget? Why should anyone believe that nationalizing health care would create the first major government program to "pay for itself," let alone get smaller rather than larger over time? Why not simply see how the Democrats can reform Medicare and Medicaid before nationalizing much of the rest of health care?
2. President Obama reiterated this past week that "no insurance company will be allowed to deny you coverage because of a pre-existing medical condition." This is an oft-repeated goal of the president's and the Democrats' health care plan. But if any individual can buy health insurance at any time, why would anyone buy health insurance while healthy? Why would I not simply wait until I got sick or injured to buy the insurance? If auto insurance were purchasable once one got into an accident, why would anyone purchase auto insurance before an accident? Will the Democrats next demand that life insurance companies sell life insurance to the terminally ill? The whole point of insurance is that the healthy buy it and thereby provide the funds to pay for the sick. Demanding that insurance companies provide insurance to everyone at any time spells the end of the concept of insurance. And if the answer is that the government will now make it illegal not to buy insurance, how will that be enforced? How will the government check on 300 million people?
3. Why do supporters of nationalized medicine so often substitute the word "care" for the word "insurance?" it is patently untrue that millions of Americans do not receive health care. Millions of Americans do not have health insurance but virtually every American (and non-American on American soil) receives health care.
4. No one denies that in order to come close to staying within its budget health care will be rationed. But what is the moral justification of having the state decide what medical care to ration?
5. According to Dr. David Gratzer, health care specialist at the Manhattan Institute, "While 20 years ago pharmaceuticals were largely developed in Europe, European price controls made drug development an American enterprise. Fifteen of the 20 top-selling drugs worldwide this year were birthed in the United States." Given how many lives -- in America and throughout the world – American pharmaceutical companies save, and given how expensive it is to develop any new drug, will the price controls on drugs envisaged in the Democrats' bill improve or impair Americans' health?
6. Do you really believe that private insurance could survive a "public option"? Or is this really a cover for the ideal of single-payer medical care? How could a private insurance company survive a "public option" given that private companies have to show a profit and government agencies do not have to – and given that a private enterprise must raise its own money to be solvent and a government option has access to others' money -- i.e., taxes?
7. Why will hospitals, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies do nearly as superb a job as they now do if their reimbursement from the government will be severely cut? Haven't the laws of human behavior and common sense been repealed here in arguing that while doctors, hospitals and drug companies will make significantly less money they will continue to provide the same level of uniquely excellent care?
8. Given how many needless procedures are ordered to avoid medical lawsuits and how much money doctors spend on medical malpractice insurance, shouldn't any meaningful "reform" of health care provide some remedy for frivolous malpractice lawsuits?
9. Given how weak the U.S. economy is, given how weak the U.S. dollar is, and given how much in debt the U.S. is in, why would anyone seek to have the U.S. spend another trillion dollars? Even if all the other questions here had legitimate answers, wouldn't the state of the U.S. economy alone argue against national health care at this time?
10. Contrary to the assertion of President Obama -- "we spend much more on health care than any other nation but aren't any healthier for it" -- we are healthier. We wait far less time for procedures and surgeries. Our life expectancy with virtually any

QUESTION:
Economy; car companies; UAW; Are we really THAT STUPID?
I'm beginning to think that the so called, "Big Three" car companies are now at the point of pandering to congress and the American people by, instead of flying in their corporate jets to Washington DC, driving HYBRIDS for testimony before congress now.....And then we have the almighty UAW taking out full paged ads pretty much "telling" the American people to DEMAND a bail out to prevent the collapse of Ford, GM, and Chrysler!
Please tell me that you who are not United Auto Worker Union Members agree with:
-paying workers 90% of their contractual wage to take "voluntary" layoffs; thereby pretty much sitting on their butts at home still earning 24.00 an hour for doing absolutely NOTHING!
-paying workers to meet daily "quotas" on production that were so low it virtually guaranteed that you could walk into any US Auto Manufacturing Plant to find workers making 27.00 an hour playing cards, sleeping under work stations, and leaving the premises to return four hours later to "clock out"; in the case that one of their fellow workers would not do it for them?
-having health insurance benefits that met or exceeded those of the sloths in our government and pretty much assured full coverage for something so simple as a runny nose?
-Pensions....oh every UAW member should and DESERVES to have a lifetime PENSION for the virtual DESTRUCTION of the American Auto Industry.
Hell, I agree with it.....I work at a convenience store for peanuts and have to put up with these A-Holes on a daily basis. There's an ATTITUDE there that says, "You OWE ME. MY JOB KEEPS THIS TOWN ALIVE".....
And they treat everyone that way......
So who was it that actually brought the pride of American Industry to it's knees? Was it me?
Mr. Convenience Store worker with no health insurance, working for peanuts but making it the best I can?
Or Mr. "Big Three Auto WORKER" who bled these companies to DEATH!
I don't discount the non union HEADS of these bloated car companies at all.....their boards are RUBBER STAMPS for FAILURE.I say, let them FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in a huge Chrysler and Delphi town....Kokomo Indiana....
We'll survive no matter; perhaps it's time the UAW got their heads out of their collective A--es and realized, the world has changed.....
What do YOU THINK?
-
ANSWER:
I agree. Let em fail. I came from an auto worker city (a big Chrysler engine plant was located there) and was always disappointed by the auto industry. Because of seniority, all of the workers that worked there were about 70 years old. I didn't know of any folks my age who could get a job there. And then Chrysler would lay off the highly paid union auto workers from time to time and they would try to get scab workers to fill in for them while the auto workers were all on strike or on vacation or wherever the hell they went. They would put you through a ridiculous hiring process just to work for a 90 day period (I never did get hired even for that). The people who did the hiring were a bunch of jerks. There were no guarantees of permanent employment with them. And, of course, they never did hire any of the new people. The whole American auto industry (management and the union) seemed like a pile of crap to me. It seemed like a fading, outdated industry. I sure hope they don't get bailout money. I am still upset with ANY business or industry getting even one dime from that corporate welfare bailout bill. There shouldn't have been any bailout for anyone. Ah, this subject makes me angry.

QUESTION:
What makes Women more Mature and Responsible than Men?
This is not a rant. Below are simply points and things to think about:Is it because men have such senseless dangerous hobbies right?
Football, driving race cars, and such.
But don’t women involve themselves in such senseless dangerous sports as well like gymnastics , ice skating. (you WILL break your neck if you mess up)
Why do they say girls are so much more mature than boys?
Because young boys sit at home all day and play video games and don't develop social skills? Thus having few friends and probably no girlfriend at that age.
Where as girls seem to try to start relationships and sometimes even with OLDER guys so they have to learn to Communicate earlier?
How does having children have to do with Being Mature?
No one told you to have a child. That’s like me Joining the United States Marine Corps and then complaining how much harder I have it. Nobody told me go and join. It was my choice.
Because Auto Insurance say so?
And how does Auto Insurance dictate who is Responsible and who is not.Are they God? And are you always going go by what they say no matter what, no matter how stupid their statistics sound?
Should you let them tell you what kind of car you should drive. Because statistics show you are just too stupid to operate such a vehicle?
What if they started telling a race of people they could not drive at all because statistics show…
There would be a riot.
Anyway I bet some women will side with the insurance companies, because they’re premiums are in their favor.
So how do all of these things make women more adult like?
-
ANSWER:
Well.. it depends on how you define maturity.I define it as being emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually independent. In THIS regard.. men usually win.
If you define maturity as being catty, gossipy, obsessed with relationships, fashion conscious and vain then women win hands down.
I'm guessing the latter definition is the most common one... otherwise no one would be calling men immature.

QUESTION:
What do U think Utah’s Driving Privilege Card facilitates implementation of Arizona immigration law?
Utah Representative Steve Sandstrom recently announced that he is drafting legislation similar to Arizona’s new immigration law.Sandstrom is already being accused of promoting racial profiling by the advocates for illegal aliens in spite of the fact that Utah currently has a process in place that allows illegal aliens to voluntarily self-identify by obtaining a state issued Driving Privilege Card (DPC).
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, “A person who would need to obtain a Utah Driving Privilege Card (DPC) would be: Individuals who are unable to establish legal/lawful presence and who are ineligible for a US Social Security Number.”
The DPC exists because of pressure from illegal aliens and their advocates. It has been argued by some that the DPC is the result of blackmail by illegal aliens who tell Utahns, in effect, that if you don’t grant us official driving privileges we will ignore your traffic laws just like we ignore your immigration and identity theft laws. We will drive without licenses and we will drive without auto insurance. We will injure you and we will kill you and your loved ones in traffic accidents if you don’t comply with our demands.
Initially, Utah issued full-fledged drivers licenses to individuals unlawfully in the United States. This practice ended when a state audit discovered massive drivers license fraud and found that illegal aliens had registered to vote in Utah.Once drivers licenses were no longer available and again at the urging of illegal aliens and their advocates which included the taxpayer funded Office of Ethnic Affairs, the state implemented a DPC. The Card was issued to both illegal aliens and foreign nationals who were legally in the United States making it impossible to tell if the holder of the DPC was in the United States legally or illegally.
In 2009, in order to enhance the security of Utah’s drivers license, the legislature created three classes of driving permits – a regular drivers license for citizens, a time limited regular drivers license for foreign nationals who were temporarily and legally in the United States, and a DPC for anyone who could not provide proof of legal presence in the United States.

ANSWER:
I say way to go Utah. Texas, Ohio, Georgia and another state, can't remember which one are also trying to follow Arizona's lead. As for the drivers license thing, that makes my blood boil. I am however stepping up to the plate along with thousands of others who will not let our country be ruined by Obama or illegals who are draining us.

QUESTION:
When will any public official address the real causes of high health care costs?
Any minimally competent economist can identify the four causes of high health care costs.1. New tools for diagnosis and treatment are very expensive. An MRI costs hundreds of times as much as an X-Ray; it costs 0M to bring a new drug to market. This is a huge driver of health care cost increases, with no good solution.
2. People live longer. The Netherlands released a mutli-decade study involving multiple millions of patients intended to discover whether smoking or obesity was the major driver behind lifetime consumption of health care resources. To their surprise they found that slender non-smokers as a group consumed the greatest resources simply because they lived longest.
3. The medical malpractice suit circus. As much as 20% of health care resources go to defensive medicine so that any sub-optimal outcome does not lead to a lawsuit or threat of one. Malpractice insurance costs have skyrocketed driving doctors out of poor areas and into rich ones who can pay more. The current House version of the Health Care Reform Bill deals with this by making it illegal for doctors to practice defensive medicine. If they don't, they go bankrupt; if they do, they go to jail. I'm not sure how the doctors who aren't in prison being bankrupt helps, but then maybe I'm not smart enough. The American Trial Lawyers Assocition is the largest contributor to the Democratic Party. Not that this might be relevant, of course.
4. The tax treatment of employer-provided health care coverage. Since nobody pays taxes on the amount paid, it encourages consumption of healthcare resources. Any change is vehemently opposed by the United Auto Workers, which has negotiated huge health care packages for its members. The United Auto Workers is the second largest contributor to the Democratic Party. Not, of course, that this is relevant either.
When will ANYBODY who is a public official admit that the two biggest drivers simply have no good solution, and the next two will require that Obama and company stop prostituting themselves to special interest groups?
Marcia, no, I’m a liberal Democrat who wants honest discussion instead of partisan crap. The medical economists whom I have read figure between 12% and 20%.Beatle, I agree. The benefits of the new technology are tremendous. Those benefits do not reduce its costs, though. See kcbf’s response.
Kcbf, tort reform has been tried in various jurisdictions, you are correct. Capping “pain and suffering” awards has been the answer. However, “punitive” awards remain uncapped. The “solution” to the high cost of prescription drugs might be to shorten the patent period. That would mean that the 0M that it costs to bring a new drug to market would have to be recouped in a shorter period of time, raising the cost of the medication.
-
ANSWER:
First of all, Tort reform has only been shown to reduce costs by anywhere between 1% and 2.5% in places where it has been enacted. Regardless of how minimal its financial change will produce, Tort reform should be put in the bill though.Second, you are correct. MRI, CT, and PET machines cost in the millions of dollars per machine. The lifespan of the technology usually only lasts a few years. As an example a 3M dollar MRI with 3 years of use would have to collect about 2700 dollars per day to pay off just the machine. That does not include the maintenance, cost of trained operators, films, and any profit margin. This is a cost that will be extremely difficult to cut, I agree.
The solution to the cost of prescription drugs is very easy. The lifespan on drug patents can be reduced. Currently there is a 5 year patent before any generics can be produced (generics drastically reduce the price of medication). Additional patents can be attained on the same drug by showing effectiveness in treating symptoms other than originally intended. Reducing the patent lengths would make prescriptions cheaper.

QUESTION:
What do you think about CBS, the Washington Post, and unions receiving money from an Obamacare slush fund?
("Two mainstream news organizations are receiving hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars from Obamacare’s Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP) — a billion grant program that’s doling out cash to companies, states and labor unions in what the Obama administration considers an effort to pay for health insurance for early retirees. The Washington Post Company raked in 3,217 in taxpayer subsidies and CBS Corporation secured 2,388 worth of Americans’ money.")("In addition to CBS Corporation and the Washington Post Company, recipients of ERRP funding include the United Auto Workers union, which secured 6,798,086 in taxpayer money, AT&T, which took in 0,022,949, and General Electric (GE), which raked in ,607,818. GE has made headlines recently for not paying any U.S. taxes last year. IBM got ,989,690 in taxpayer money.
Verizon pulled ,702,538 in taxpayer cash, too, and General Motors received ,002,669. More than million went to different Teamsters groups nationwide, and millions more went to the United Mine Workers, United Food and Commercial Workers, the AFL-CIO and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).)
